Contrary to popular believe, clean sans serif typography doesn’t need to be sterile or corporate. I find this series of frozen food boxes to be quirky and fun, and this is just about as clean as you get. The black type on white background could easily be categorized as nutrition-label-information-graphic-like. On the other hand, naming plays a large role in creating a lighthearted attitude – four letter words can speak volumes with straightforward text, simple illustration, layout, and highlights of bright color. Designed by Monterrey, Mexican-based design firm, Face, the “Good Food” line of packaging would really stand out in the local freezer aisle, and if the food tasted nearly as good as boxes look, I’d give ‘em a go.
